One of my greatest fears is that I will, little by little, begin to forget the series of seemingly insignificant events of my boys' early years. Perhaps I fear this because I know that these years are THE most formative. On second thought, it's not so much that I fear forgetting but I fear that there will come a day when I do not know my own children. Perhaps my hope is that if I pay attention now...I will know them better then, and in turn, they will know me.

I think it means he is listening to the world around him and is mimicking whatever he hears even though he doesn't understand what it means. SO be careful, little ears what you hear..."Oh be careful little ears what you hear...for the Father up above is looking down in love..."
